Lucid Delivers First Gravity Robotaxi for Uber–Nuro Integration

Lucid has officially taken its first steps into the robotaxi race by delivering its first Gravity-based robotaxi to Nuro, where it will be equipped with the company’s self-driving “Nuro Driver” system for eventual use on Uber’s ride-hailing platform.

Lucid announced the launch of its “Robotaxi Engineering Fleet,” with a post on X showing the first vehicle already handed over to Nuro for integration with its “Nuro Driver” software.

The program builds on Lucid’s recently revealed partnerships with Uber and Nuro, which plans to see as many as 20,000 Gravity robotaxis on the road, starting in an unnamed U.S. city next year.

The Gravity SUV, which will serve as the foundation of Lucid’s robotaxi program, is Lucid’s second electric vehicle (EV) and builds on the Air’s reputation for efficiency and range. With seating for up to seven, the Gravity is well-suited for shared mobility.

While the delivery of the first Gravity robotaxi is just the beginning, Lucid has framed it as the start of “an exciting new chapter.” Additional engineering vehicles will follow, and real-world testing with Uber riders could begin once Nuro finalizes system integration.
