SpaceX’s Starlink has unveiled a new 12-Month Discounted Service Line Offer designed to make its high-speed internet more accessible to first-time users. The promotion combines a year of reduced monthly pricing with 50% off the Standard Kit, offering significant savings for households and businesses in eligible regions.
The discounted pricing applies to Residential or Residential Lite service plans and begins on the activation date of the Starlink kit. In Canada, the introductory rate is $115 per month (regularly $140), while in the United States — where the deal is available only in select coverage areas — pricing starts at $90 per month.
Argentina, Australia, Colombia, and New Zealand are also part of the program, with plan eligibility varying by country.

One of the key advantages of the offer is that there’s no long-term contract required, giving customers the flexibility to cancel at any time without penalty. However, on the flip side, the discount is only valid for one year and for only one service line per customer.
According to the Starlink website, the offer is limited to new customers. Existing subscribers cannot downgrade to take advantage of the promotion, and customers currently on the 12-Month Residential Service Option who switch during their 30-day trial will incur a change fee.
In addition to the discounted monthly rate, Starlink is discounting the cost of its Standard Kit by 50%, to $249 in Canada . The kit includes everything needed for setup: a satellite dish, mounting hardware, and a Wi-Fi router. Installation is designed to be quick and user-friendly, with most customers able to get online within minutes.
The 12-Month Discounted Service Line Offer appears to be part of Starlink’s broader strategy to accelerate adoption in regions where broadband can be costly or unreliable. By combining discounted service rates with half-price hardware, Starlink is lowering the entry barrier for customers who may have been hesitant to commit to satellite internet.\
