Tesla’s Supercharger network has become a target for vandalism, prompting Tesla to take a hard stance against those responsible. The company has vowed to prosecute anyone caught damaging its charging stations, after a station was recently vandalized in Utah.
In recent months, Tesla Superchargers across North America have been subjected to various acts of vandalism, ranging from graffiti and destruction of charging stalls to outright theft of charging cables. Some stations have even been rendered inoperable due to deliberate tampering. These incidents not only inconvenience Tesla owners but also raise concerns about the security of public charging infrastructure.
One recent and disturbing act of vandalism surfaced over the weekend when a Supercharger station was defaced with offensive graffiti, including a swastika. The images quickly spread on social media, and the company responded swiftly, stating that the graffiti would be removed by the following morning and that it would be pursuing criminal charges against the perpetrators.
Tesla’s official Supercharger account confirmed via X (formerly Twitter) that the company is taking these attacks seriously and will work with law enforcement to identify and prosecute those responsible.

As we have previously reported, the automaker has also been implementing measures to prevent future vandalism. Starting with a trial at a Supercharger station in Seattle, Tesla has Tesla has begun using exploding dye sleeves on its charging cables and engraving ‘Property of Tesla’ directly on the copper cables to discourage cable theft.
