Tesla is a frequent visitor to Laguna Seca, having recently tested the Plaid and now discontinued Plaid+ Model S at the famous racetrack earlier this year. TeslaCorsa has also been holding track day events for owners at Laguna Seca for over three years.
Soon any Tesla won’t have to leave the track to be recharged before its next session.
According to a permit filed with Monterey County and obtained by Drive Tesla, the company has applied to install a new 8-stall V3 Supercharger at 1021 Monterey Salinas, the address for the racetrack.
The permit was submitted on September 27, 2021 and has not yet been approved.
The addition will be a significant benefit for owners at the track, as the nearest V3 Supercharger is located about 20 minutes away in Sand City.
This isn’t the first race track in California set to receive its very own Supercharger. A 16-stall Supercharger is planned to be built at Buttonwillow, another TeslaCorsa track, later this year.
Tesla has also installed a Supercharger at one of their other favourite racetracks, the Nürburgring in Germany.
