Second Kamloops Tesla Supercharger now open [British Columbia]

Tesla has opened a new Supercharger in Kamloops, with the new station on Notre Dame Drive (or Summit Drive) going live yesterday. This is the second Supercharger in Kamloops, but a third is also expected to be turned on shortly.

The site features 12 V3 stalls in the Sahali business area, and is located less than a kilometer away from the first Supercharger in Kamloops at 1290 Trans-Canada Hwy.

A source informed us yesterday that the Supercharger had been activated, and that was later confirmed by Drive Tesla reader Mike, who shared this photo of the Tesla mobile app showing the station as being available.

The station hasn’t appeared on the in-car navigation yet, so we don’t know the rates are at this new Supercharger, but we will update this article when it shows up.

Construction began on the second Kamloops Supercharger back in July at 1380 Summit Drive. While it was a welcomed sight by local owners, it was surprising because it was not on the lands of the Tk’emlúps te Secwe̓pemc First Nation, which announced last year a Supercharger was going to be built at the Petro-Canada gas station at 301 Southern Yellowhead Hwy.

Construction of that station began a few weeks later however, and has also been sitting waiting to be turned on.

With this second Kamloops Supercharger being activated yesterday, it would not be surprising to see the third station in the city turned on today.
