Tesla has opened their second Supercharger in Canada in 2023 in the small town of Morris, Manitoba.
We first found out about the Morris Supercharger just under a year ago when Tesla added it to the list of upcoming locations. A few months later Drive Tesla learned it was going to be built at the Bigway Foods off Lord Selkirk Highway at 654 Main St S.
Construction began back in October, and last week the Supercharger was finally turned on. The opening was first reported by a member of the Manitoba Tesla Club on Facebook who plugged in their Model 3 on Friday morning. Tesla’s website has been updated to show the station is open, and it is also appearing in the in-car navigation and mobile app.
The site features 6 V3 Supercharger stalls, and 2 FLO DC fast chargers for other electric vehicles (EVs).
The Morris Supercharger is just the fifth station in all of Manitoba, to go along with the other stations in Brandon, Portage la Prairie, Winnipeg, and Prawda. It was built in a town of less than 2,000 people, but it will serve as an important charging stop, especially in winter, for those heading south from Winnipeg to the next closest Supercharger in Grand Forks, Minnesota, about 240km away.
Tesla’s find us map currently shows no other proposed locations in Manitoba. There are also no locations on Tesla’s Supercharger voting page.
