SpaceX 20th anniversary celebrated with video of accomplishments

On March 14, 2002, Elon Musk founded SpaceX. Twenty years later and the company has transformed the aerospace industry by developing reusable rockets and being on the verge of sending humans to Mars.

To celebrate the milestone birthday, SpaceX released a video on Twitter this morning, showcasing some of the their accomplishments over that twenty year period.

“Today we celebrate the founding of SpaceX and 20 years of accomplishments by this incredible team — here’s to creating a future that we can all get excited about,” SpaceX tweeted.

The video starts off with the fourth, and first successful SpaceX Falcon 1 rocket launch in September 2008.

We also see footage of some other notable success stories, including Falcon 9 launches and landings, the launch of Falcon Heavy and the release of Musk’s personal Tesla Roadster into space, and the first Crew Dragon mission.

Fittingly, the video ends with a shot of Starship, the company’s next big item on their to-do list. Starship is still awaiting its first orbital test flight, but SpaceX hopes to use it to send humans around the Earth, and even to Mars.

Could the 30th anniversary celebration feature video of humans on the red planet?
