Tesla adds ‘Upgrade’ tab in Europe to allow for in-car purchases

Back in November Tesla added a new ‘Upgrades’ tab to their vehicles’ main menu, giving owners the option to purchase either the Acceleration Boost or Premium Connectivity subscription.

The new tab only appeared on Teslas in the United States, with Canada still waiting to receive the tab.

Hopefully it will be appearing here in Canada soon as Tesla has now released the feature to owners in Europe.

On Friday Tesla owners in multiple European countries spotted the new addition which was noted as appearing without a new software update being downloaded, just like what happened when it was released in the US.

However unlike their counterparts across the pond they can only purchase a Premium Connectivity subscription.

To help prevent any unwanted purchases, you must first turn off a new toggle added to the mobile app which limits in-car purchases unless turned off.

Tesla originally went with a ‘slide to purchase’ user interface, but soon after the release added the toggle to the mobile app.
