Tesla Supercharger in Digby now open [Nova Scotia]

Nova Scotia has its third Supercharger station, and should hopefully soon have four, after the Supercharger in Digby was finally turned on last week.

The Digby Supercharger started construction in October last year, making it one of the longest outstanding Supercharger projects in Canada. The site was built at the same time as another Supercharger just down the coast in Yarmouth, with both projects built within a few months of construction first starting.

Then the long wait began. Several times over the summer NS Power was seeing working at both the Digby and Yarmouth Superchargers, with crews most recently working at Yarmouth just a few weeks ago.

Despite that, the Digby Supercharger (112 Warwick St.) is the first to come online. The site was officially turned on last week on November 7, but announced by Tesla Charging on X on Tuesday. According to the mobile app, it costs $0.68/kWh to plug in at the Digby Supercharger, the cheapest of the three stations in the province ($0.71/kWh at Enfield and New Minas.

Unfortunately the Yarmouth Supercharger is still not online, although with Digby finally powered up, we should hopefully be seeing that site finally become available before the end of the month.

These will be the only new Superchargers coming to Nova Scotia for a while. Aulds Cove was voted as a future Supercharger site in Q4 2023, but there has been no further development on that potential site. There were also no new potential sites added in Tesla’s November Supercharger map update.
