Tesla has ramping up its hiring efforts in North America again after a brief hiatus, posting hundreds jobs across different categories in both Canada and the United States.
In early April Tesla had thousands of job postings on their Careers website, based in locations around the world, including hundreds Canada. That changed in mid-April, following CEO Elon Musk’s decision to layoff more than 10% of the global workforce.
Just a few days after that announcement all job postings were removed from Tesla’s website, indicating there was also going to be a temporary hiring freeze while departments determined which jobs, and job roles, were necessary under the new structure.
After a few jobs in Manufacturing and Autopilot & Robotics based in Palo Alto reappeared late last month, Tesla is now ramping up its hiring efforts in earnest, posting hundreds of new jobs across multiple job categories in the US on its Careers page. (h/t: @SawyerMerritt)
Not to be left out, Canada has also seen job postings added, although not quite to the same extent as in the US. There are a total of 11 postings seeking Advisors, Service Technicians, Sales Managers, and more, in British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec.
Even though this is a notable jump in job postings, particularly in the US, the number is still below what it was before the layoff announcement and temporary hiring freeze. This is not surprising as it takes a considerable amount of effort to coordinate job postings, and the process that goes along with it, especially when you consider Tesla receives millions of applications every year.
