Tesla publishes job posting confirming new Service Center in Victoria, B.C. [Update]

Tesla has published a new job posting to the Careers section of its website, confirming British Columbia will soon be getting its third Service Center.

The job posting (#83582) seeking a full-time “Associate Service Manager” was published yesterday, February 7, 2021.

According to the job description, the successful candidate will be “responsible for driving excellent results in customer service and operational efficiency in our service centers.”

Under the posting details, there is a note saying “*This is a new location opening in Victoria*.

Where will Tesla Victoria be located?

According to sources close to the deal who spoke with Drive Tesla, the automaker is currently working through the final details to take over the former Volvo dealership in Victoria at 2735 Douglas Street. An offer is in place and Tesla is conducting their due diligence as part of the conditions of that offer.

UPDATE February 11, 10:45am PST: We have just learned Tesla has pulled out of the deal to take over the former Volvo dealership.

When will Tesla Victoria open?

Sources also tell Drive Tesla the automaker is targeting a summer opening for the new location. The site will initially used as a Delivery Center, before later opening the service side of the operation.

A Delivery Center will be welcomed news for new owners on Vancouver Island who currently have to travel to Vancouver to pick up their cars. It will be especially good news for those living in Victoria, which has the highest per capita rate of EV adoption in North America.

This will be the third Tesla Service Center in the province. There is currently one open in Vancouver, with another in Surrey currently undergoing renovations that will likely open in the spring.
