Tesla-powered Ferrari 308 GTS takes on gas-powered Ferrari Testarossa

At first glance it might look like a battle between two of Ferrari’s most iconic vehicles, a Ferrari 308 GTS and Testarossa. But a closer look reveals one of them has a bit of a surprise under the hood.

A traditional 308 GTS is powered by a 2.9-litre V8 engine, but this one has undergone a special conversion. It is now equipped with a Tesla motor and batteries, pushing the horsepower up to 450 horsepower.

The conversion, done by Electric Classic Cars, not only increased the Ferrari’s power output, but also reduced the car’s weight down to 1,490kg (3,284lbs).

As to be expected, the folks at carwow put the two cars head to head in a series of races. Also as expected, the old gas-powered Testarossa doesn’t stand a chance against the Tesla-rrari.
