Tesla opens Supercharger in Orillia [Ontario]

Tesla has opened another new Supercharger in Canada this week in Orillia, making it the second Supercharger in Ontario to open this week.

The new Supercharger is located at 665 University Ave, where 8 V3 stalls were built late last year. Despite construction being completed quickly thanks to the use of prefabricated Supercharger, the Supercharger posts have remained covered up and without power for more than 7 months.

After reaching out to Tesla for comment on the many idle Supercharger projects across Canada, the company told us Orillia, along with 6 other sites would open before the end of the month. The first of those opened in Niagara Falls earlier this week, and yesterday Tesla followed up by flipping the switch in Orillia, where it will cost $0.61/kWh to Supercharge according to the mobile app.

The Orillia Supercharger is open to both Tesla and NACS Enabled Vehicles with CCS Compatibility.

That makes two out of the seven Superchargers Tesla said would open this month now available to owners. The others scheduled to open in the next few weeks are in North Saanich, Whitecourt, Valleyview, Kananaskis, and Digby.
