Tesla has once again tweaked pricing for the Model 3 in the United States, increasing the price of the Long Range (LR) variant of the electric sedan by $250, the third price increase this month alone. At the same time, the company has also increased the price to upgrade the interior of your Model 3 to white.
The changes have so far only impacted the US, as there have been no changes to pricing of the vehicle or options in Canada.
Model 3 Price Increase
According to an update to the Design Studio on Thursday night, the Model 3 LR now starts at $47,740, up from the previous price of $47,490. The price wasn’t the only thing that changed with the Model 3 LR, as the delivery estimate shown by the online configurator has now extended to between April and May, one month later than the previous estimate (March-April).
This extension of the delivery window, indicating increased demand, is the likely cause behind this latest price increase.
The price of the Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) is unchanged at $38,990, and its delivery window is also still the same at between February and March.
White Interior Price Increase
Tesla also increased the price of the white interior option. Since this option is of course available for both the RWD and LR variants, the price increase has affected both. Previously the upgrade to the white interior would cost you $1,000, but now that has increased 50% to $1,500.
This change only impact the white interior option on the Model 3. There have been no changes for the Model S, Model X, or Model Y.
