To say that construction is proceeding quickly at the site of the Tesla’s latest Gigafactory in Austin, Texas would be an understatement.
During the company’s Battery Day event last week, CEO Elon Musk said the progress is happening at an even quicker pace than what is taking place in Germany at Giga Berlin.

The latest drone flyover from this past weekend show just how much things have progressed at Giga Texas in the first 65 days. In the video from Joe Tegtmeyer, we can see the first six footings have been already been poured with rebar in place. We can also see a large amount of rebar waiting to be used in other footers for the first building.
We recently learned thanks to site plans posted to the City of Austin website (which have since been removed), the final configuration of Giga Texas will include 3 large buildings.
We first thought the buildings would be separated by roads, and we were partially correct as Elon Musk recently revealed all three will be covered by a single roof, making for a monolithic appearance for the entire structure. The interior roads will be used by Tesla Semi trucks to deliver parts to various parts of the factory.
