After first deploying a software update that allows Tesla cars to recognize and slow down for emergency vehicles, Tesla is preparing to release a new visualization to go along with it.
The new visualizations were uncovered by hacker @greentheonly, who shared a short animation of them on Twitter.
According to the video, it will be your typical flashing red and blue lights placed on top of a car, even though they’re not that typical anymore as many police departments have already switched to all blue emergency lights.

It also won’t just be for cars, as there was a separate animation for motorcycles.

This new ability to detect emergency vehicles was revealed to be coming by CEO Elon Musk earlier this year. After adding the ability for FSD Beta equipped cars to detect brake lights, Musk said Teslas will soon be able to “capture turn signals, hazards, ambulance/police lights & even hand gestures.”
In a follow-up response to Drive Tesla, Musk later added that after recognition, it will also be able to react appropriately in those situations.
