Porsche Attempts to Lure Tesla Drivers with New Taycan Incentives

Porsche is the latest automaker to try and attract Tesla drivers to its electric vehicle lineup. Porsche is offering significant financial incentives to entice potential buyers to the Taycan, through their Welcome To Porsche Conquest Lease Program, in which Porsche aims to boost sales by offering lease credits to those currently driving a Tesla, or other vehicle models.

According to a dealer bulletin seen by CarsDirect, Porsche announced the new incentives to its Welcome To Porsche Conquest Lease Program on June 1. This program offers payment credits to eligible customers who finance or lease a new 2024 or 2025 Taycan.

The credits are distributed based on the remaining duration of the current lease: one payment credit for leases with 31 to 60 days remaining, two credits for 61 to 90 days, and three credits for 91 to 180 days, totaling up to US$4,500.

Porsche’s decision to offer these significant incentives comes at a time when the company is looking to rejuvenate Taycan sales. In the first quarter of 2024, Porsche delivered 4,236 Taycans, a 45% decrease compared to the same period in 2023.

Part of the reason for the slump in sales could have been that customers were waiting for the 2025 model year Taycan, which features a host of improvements over the outgoing 2024 model. Notable updates include a mild styling refresh, upgraded batteries, faster DC charging capabilities, and the introduction of a new Turbo GT trim.

The Taycan’s range has also been extended, with the larger battery model capable of traveling up to 365 miles (587 km) on a single charge.

Porsche’s 2025 Taycan has ability to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 18 minutes. Additionally, the Taycan now features a new thermal management system and an upgraded infotainment system.
