Mercedes-Benz Canada announced the Mercedes-EQ charging strategy to ensure Mercedes-EQ drivers have integrated charging at home and across Canada. The company announced a single charging ecosystem called the Mercedes me Charge. ChargePoint powers the ecosystem and empowers drivers to get the most out of their cars.

At launch, Mercedes-EQ drivers will have access to more than 4,900 public charging ports in Canada. The partnership allows access to ChargePoint and FLO chargers. Additionally, drivers will have access to 2,400 semi-public ports on the ChargePoint network. These ports are in access-controlled environments like workplaces, hotels and shopping malls.

The ecosystem will include an integrated payment function and an easy-to-setup account for seamless payment across Canada and the United States. Further to this, drivers will have access to navigation with Electric Intelligence. This navigation feature plans the fastest and most convenient route for drivers, with smart mapping to ensure that charging stops are as efficient as possible. In addition, the MBUX infotainment system will inform drivers if they have enough charge to return to their starting point without charging.

Moreover, Mercedes partnered with FLO and Qmerit to provide in-home charging solutions for owners. The FLO Home X5 is now available with installation provided by Qmerit. Finally, customers can also finance their home charging systems through MBFS Canada with ease.
