Mercedes-Benz EQS price announced in Germany, starts above €100,000 but with options can reach €180,000

Mercedes-Benz announced the German pricing for its flagship electric sedan, the EQS. The base model rear-wheel-drive EQS 450 + starts at €106,374 ($156,250 CAD).

The all-wheel-drive (AWD) EQS 580 starts at €135,529 ($199,000 CAD). Add in options and that number balloons to more than €180,000 ($264,400 CAD).

Deliveries in Germany will begin in late September of 2021. For those in North America, customers will need to wait until the end of the year. North American pricing will be released as that date approaches.

The EQS is the first Mercedes on a dedicated EV platform. In addition, the vehicle is the first Mercedes to feature over-the-air update capability.

For those looking for the best of the best, the EQS offers various additional trim levels. The Edition 1 trim costs €18,433 ($27,000 CAD) and includes AMG exterior packs, Designio Nappa leather and sill panels, among other things.

If you want every option under the hood, the Premium Plus Package builds on the Premium Package and includes all available options to the EQS 580. However, this does cost almost €45,000 ($66,100 CAD), or about the equivalent of a Long Range Tesla Model 3.
