Mercedes Benz USA has announced pricing for the upcoming EQS electric sedan this morning. In an effort to give it a good chance at success, the price has been set below its gas-powered counterpart, the S-Class.
The EQS sedan is expected to arrive at dealerships in North America this fall. When it does the base model EQS 450+ will start at $102,310 USD ($131,100 CAD) with the Premium Trim level.
That makes it $8,790 USD ($11,263 CAD) cheaper than the S 500 4MATIC sedan.
The German automaker will also offer a second EQS 580 4MATIC model, which starts at a higher price of $119,110 USD ($152,626 CAD) at the lowest Premium Trim level.
Additional trim levels will be available for both models – Premium, Exclusive, and Pinnacle. Opting for the EQS 580 4MATIC with the highest Pinnacle trim pushes the price up to $125,310 USD ($160,570 CAD).
There has been no official announcement on pricing in Canada. We have reached out to Mercedes Benz for clarification and will update this article when we receive a response.
UPDATE: In a statement to Drive Tesla, MB Canada says Canadian pricing is still being finalized but an announcement is expected “in the very near future.”
Here is a full breakdown of the trim levels and various options included in each. You can also read more about the EQS here.
