Ford Mach-E has at least 50,000 reservations, as 1st Edition model is now sold out

Ford Mustang Mach-E

Ford unveiled their new Mach-E electric vehicle (EV) last month to much fanfare at their live event, even though details and pictures of the EV had leaked a few days earlier.

Ford has now announced that reservations for the 1st Edition model, which is a limited production run of just 50,000 vehicles, has sold out, several weeks after the option disappeared from their website. Potential customers can still place a reservation for the premium versions of the EV crossover, including the GT, of which 30% of reservation holders are selecting.

According to a press release, the three most popular colour choices for reservation holders thus far have been Carbonized Gray (38%), Grabber Blue Metallic (35%), and Rapid Red (27%). More than 80% have also decided to go with the Extended Range Battery, which features a 98.8-kilowatt-hour battery pack giving it a maximum range of up to 300 miles (482km).

Reservation holders are also selecting all-wheel drive (AWD) 55% of the time, and more than 25% of all reservations are coming from Tesla’s backyard, California.

Canadians prices for the Mustang Mach-E are in the range of $50,495CDN for the lowest ‘Select’ model, to $71,995CDN for the now sold-out 1st Edition.
