First VW ID.4 vehicles arrive at Quebec dealerships [Update]

Just one week after they first arrived in Halifax, the Volkswagen (VW) ID.4 has officially arrived at dealerships in Canada.

VW Canada tells Drive Tesla the first customer ID.4 vehicles will be found in dealerships in Quebec, starting today. They are the first to receive the electric SUV given their proximity to the Port of Halifax where they arrived last week.

UPDATE: We have also heard that the first deliveries could also begin today. Stay tuned for more info.

British Columbians will be able to see the first ID.4 vehicles towards the end of the month after they complete their weeks-long journey by train across the country.

Not to be left out, Ontario will receive their first units in December.

Electrify Canada to offer free charging to VW ID.4 buyers

VW Canada prioritized deliveries in these three provinces as they have the highest rates of EV adoption in Canada.

Other provinces will have to wait until the second half of 2022 once VW’s new facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee opens next year.

The ID.4 in Canada starts at $44,995 for the RWD Pro variant. It comes equipped with an 82kWh battery good enough for 400km of range on a full charge. Unlike the ID.4 in the U.S., all Canadian vehicles will come standard with a heat pump.

Given it’s low price point, it qualifies for the federal iZEV $5,000 rebate, which can be combined with provincial rebates to make it even cheaper.
