Porsche has announced it will build Canada’s first Experience Center just outside of Toronto in Pickering, Ontario.
The future Porsche Experience Center (PEC) will be located on a 20-acre site in the Durham Live development, alongside other proposed venues such as a 300-room luxury hotel and casino, concert venue, and over 400,000 of retail space.
The design will follow that of the other nine PECs around the world, but will be the first “urban” version of the concept.
“PEC Toronto will be a brand park and major tourist destination where visitors can experience vehicle dynamics, technology, and emotion first-hand with expert guidance from Porsche instructors through various driving modules all year long and within a 30-minute drive of downtown Toronto.”
The site will feature a 2km driving circuit designed by Tilke Engineering. To cater to Porsche Taycan owners, and future Porsche EVs, charging infrastructure will also be included, extending the company’s Canadian Destination Charging program announced earlier this year.
PEC Toronto is expected to open by 2024.
The other nine PECs are located in Leipzig, Silverstone, Atlanta, Le Mans, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Germany’s Hockenheimring, Franciacorta, Italy, and most recently Tokyo, which opened last month.
