Tesla CEO Elon Musk has arrived in Germany to prepare for the official opening of Giga Berlin, scheduled to take place tomorrow March 22.
Musk left Austin, Texas late on Sunday night, arriving in Brandenburg earlier this morning.
Wasting no time, Musk headed straight to Giga Berlin where according to a source familiar with the matter toured various areas of the factory with his youngest son, X Æ A-12 in tow.
The CEO was reportedly very impressed with what he saw, and plans to return tomorrow ahead of the opening for a more detailed tour of the facility.
The event is expected to draw a crowd of local politicians, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
To officially celebrate the opening of Giga Berlin, Musk will personally deliver the first 30 Model Y Performance SUVs built at the factory to lucky new owners.
After the official ceremony, Tesla is hosting a six-hour party with employees, where the new owners will also get a personal tour of the factory.
Last week Tesla finally received official approval to begin production an delivery of customer cars after being able to meet the 400 additional requirements that were part of the final environmental approval received on March 4.
