Boring Company now planning Vegas Loop stop at The Strat

The Boring Company is next planning to expand the Vegas Loop to link the Las Vegas Convention Center to The Strat Hotel & Casino & Tower, formerly known as the Stratosphere.

According to a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Boring Company applied to Clark County for a commercial building permit tied to the proposed Strat station earlier this month. The total value of the project is $2.4 million per the permit.

This latest station will most likely be an addition to the links between the Las Vegas Convention Center, Westgate and Encore, which is already under construction.

The publicly released plan is for the Boring Company to have three offshoot tunnels off the current Vegas Loop. One tunnel will go to the Encore, one to the Westgate and the final one off to Resorts World. The Boring Company plans to eventually come back and dig a twin to allow simultaneous trips between the resorts and the convention center.

There is no word on whether the Strat station would be a fourth offshoot tunnel or if it will be part of an expansion of the main line.

There is no timeline associated with this latest Strat expansion by the Boring Company. However, the Encore Tunnel is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2024, with the Westgate opening soon after. So, with the current construction pace, the Strat station could come online sometime in mid to late 2025.
