B.C.’s EV charger rebate program ends March 31, 2020

First announced in September 2019, BC Hydro has been providing rebates of up to $700 for the purchase and installation of electric vehicle (EV) chargers for homes and workplaces.

Initally when the program was announced, Tesla Wall Connectors were excluded based on the rules of the program. After plenty of feedback received from angry Tesla owners, the BC Government reversed course and included Tesla Wall Connectors as part of the program.

The program was funded with $4 million from the BC Government as part of the province’s Clean BC plan. The program was only for a limited time, and the deadline for anyone wanting to take advantage of the rebate is fast approaching.

The program is scheduled to end on March 31, 2020, or when funds run out. Since there has been no indication from BC Hydro or the BC Government that funds are low, there leaves a little over two weeks left for anyone looking to purchase a Tesla Wall Connector to get the $700 rebate.

Visit BC Hydro’s website for more information about the program and how to apply for your rebate.
