Tesla Model Y achieves 5-star overall safety rating from NHTSA

Continuing the trend of building the safest cars on the roads, the Model Y is the latest Tesla vehicle to earn a 5-star overall safety rating.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) awarded the electric SUV perfect scores in all categories, including front and side crashes, and rollover protection. It is important to note that some vehicles still receive a 5-star overall safety rating, but do not achieve perfect scores in every test like the Model Y did.

Previously the Model S and Model X have also perfect safety ratings from numerous agencies, including the NHTSA. Shortly after the Model 3 was released it too received a perfect score from the NHTSA, earning the lowest probability of injury in any vehicle they had previously tested.
