Tesla Model Y goes up against Model 3 and Model X in 1/4 mile race

The new Tesla Model Y Performance has an advertised 0-60mph time of 3.5 seconds. Tests from some lucky new owners show the Model Y may be even faster than advertised.

But how does it stack up against the established Performance variants of the Model 3 and Model X, each with a 0-60 mph time of 3.2 seconds and 2.9 seconds respectively?

Brian Jenkins of the i1Tesla YouTube channel took his 3 Performance vehicles to the NCCAR track in North Carolina to find out.

As expected based on the numbers on paper, the Model Y was beaten by both the Model 3 and the Model X. The Model Y completed the 1/4 mile in a respectable 12.04 seconds at 113.05mph. The Model 3 was next quickest at 11.63 seconds and 114.05mph, while the Model X stole the show with a 11.28 second time in the 1/4 mile at 119.27mph.
