Tesla Model Y is quicker than advertised according to early tests by Drag Times and DÆrik

According to Tesla’s website, the new Model Y Performance can reach 60mph in just 3.5 seconds. That’s slightly slower than the Model 3 Performance which is listed at 3.2 seconds, and over a second slower than the fastest Model S at 2.4 seconds.

It hasn’t taken long for some new Model Y owners to put that advertised time to the test in some 0-60mph and ¼ mile runs.

Brooks Weisblat, of the DragTimes YouTube channel recently took delivery of his red Model Y, and wasted no time getting it on some deserted Florida roads for some testing. In his 0-60mph runs, he was able to achieve of a time 3.426 seconds. For the ¼ mile, it clocked in at 11.96 seconds.

Both of those are impressive times for a family SUV. It is also important to note that these times were just on a back road with the regular tires delivered with the vehicle. It will be interesting to see what kind of times he’s able to achieve once he gets some real tires on it and takes it to a track.

Not to be outdone, Erik Strait of the DÆrik YouTube channel also just got his Midnight Silver Performance Model Y, and took it out for some performance testing. He was also able to beat the advertised 0-60mph time, and by even more than DragTimes, clocking in with a best time of 3.30 seconds.
