Tesla Model X split in half in high speed crash with Nissan GT-R

In a testament to the safety of Tesla vehicles, a black Model X was involved in a high speed crash yesterday in Florida that resulted in the SUV being split into two pieces.

The accident occurred in Hallandale Beach, Florida, after a Nissan GT-R allegedly ran a red light before slamming into the rear of Model X at an extremely high rate of speed. Witnesses at the accident suggest the GT-R could have been travelling as fast an 100mph (160km/h) at the moment of impact.

Amazingly the driver of the Model X, Jose Diaz, was able to walk away from the accident with only minor injuries. The two occupants of the Nissan GT-R were transported to hospital, one as a trauma patient and the other with minor injuries. Both are expected to recover (via WSVN).
