Tesla owners in southern California still waking up to hovering Model 3’s

The black market for Tesla Model 3 wheels is still alive and strong in southern California. In October last year the LAPD issued a warning to Tesla owners after a rash of thefts in the Palms and Mar Vista areas near Santa Monica.

In social media posts at the time the thieves were also targeting Model 3’s in nearby Venice Beach, leaving the vehicles sitting on plastic crates.

Six months later and the thieves continue to steal the wheels of Model 3 owners in the area. Just this morning a Tesla owner in East Venice came across two on the same block missing their wheels, again sitting on only crates. For obvious reasons the owner who provided the photos to Drive Tesla wishes to remain anonymous.

Just as the LAPD did last year, Tesla owners in the area are reminded to turn on Sentry Mode to record any suspicious activity to hopefully catch these criminals and end their spree.
