Carwow’s Youtube channel is back at it! The channel had the BMW i4 M50 take on the Tesla Model 3 Performance in a head to head drag race.

Let’s say the BMW i4 did pretty well.

However, before we get into the results, let’s talk about the cars.

The BMW i4 M50 is a 2,215 kg car that pumps out 544 hp from its dual electric motors. The vehicle produces an impressive 795 Nm of torque.

The BMW i4 M50 costs 63,905 pounds.

The Tesla Model 3 Performance is also a dual electric motor vehicle on the other side of the track. The Tesla pumps out 490 hp and 660 Nm of torque from a 350 kg lighter body and weighs 1,847 kg.

The Model 3 Performance costs 59,990 pounds.

However, the real test was on track!

Carwow took the two vehicles out to the track to test them out.

The first drag race was not close, with the win easily going to the BMW. The driver of the Tesla Model 3 complained about the launch controls.

However, the second race was close. The Tesla led off the line, but the BMW won out by the end.

The third and fourth races with a rolling start ended much the same. The Tesla led off the beginning, but the BMW caught it and finished ahead of it by the end.

Here are the times for the ¼ mile race for the standing start.

  • BMW i4 M50- 11.9 seconds
