Tesla is bracing for a surge in Supercharger network usage across North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific regions over the holiday season. Max de Zegher, Tesla’s Director of Charging, shared on social media that the company anticipates an unprecedented demand, forecasting over 20 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of daily usage across its global network over the next two weekends.
According to de Zegher, Tesla is deploying a comprehensive strategy to meet this increased demand. This includes scrubbing the Supercharger network to achieve near 100% uptime, positioning attendants at key locations, and utilizing mobile Tesla Megapack-powered Superchargers at high-traffic sites.
Additionally, Tesla’s 24/7 Operations Center at Giga New York will monitor and manage the network in real-time over the holiday season to ensure everything is operating at peak performance.

De Zegher also emphasized Tesla’s commitment to addressing any delays or congestion that may arise. “If you ever have to wait, note that our models detect it, and those Superchargers become a top priority for everyone at Tesla Charging,” he said in a post on X.
Despite the holiday rush, Tesla continues to expand its Supercharger network, ensuring additional stations are brought online to serve both current and future needs. This includes within Canada, with the company opening over a dozen stations in recent weeks and months, with hopes to bring another 7 online before the end of the year, and many more in 2025.
With just a few weeks to go before the end of the year, we thought we’d revisit this Canadian Supercharger list from @TeslaCharging and see how things have progressed.
