Tesla offers owners with Enhanced Autopilot discounts and perks for upgrading to Full Self-Driving

Tesla is offering owners with Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) in Canada and the United States a special discount if they upgrade to a new car, and transfer and upgrade their EAP to Full Self-Driving (FSD). There is also an additional perk of free Supercharging, if you take delivery on the new car quickly.

On Saturday Tesla emailed owners with EAP, letting them know now is a great time for them to upgrade both their car and driver-assist package. With the purchase of any new Tesla, excluding the Cybertruck, the company will take $1,350 off the price in Canada, or $1,000 in the US, so long as you also upgrade your EAP to FSD.

Currently, Tesla charges C$2,750/US$2,000 to upgrade from EAP to FSD, making it effectively C$1,400/US$1,000 to complete the upgrade, or about half the price.

To receive the discount, you must take delivery of your new Tesla by September 30, 2024. To further sweeten the pot, Tesla is offering three months of free Supercharging if you take delivery in less than a month, by August 15, 2024.

According to the fine print of the deal, it’s also backdated to June 21, 2024.

If you are unfamiliar with EAP, it is almost the same as the FSD package. It includes nearly all the same features, such as Navigate on Autopilot, Auto Lane Change, Autopark, Summon, and Smart Summon. The only exceptions are Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control, as well as Autosteer on City Streets, which is more commonly referred to as Full Self-Driving (Supervised).

Tesla used to allow customers to purchase EAP, but pulled the optional package earlier this year when the company slashed the price of FSD by more than 30%.

This is another incentive to add to the list of offers currently available from Tesla. Others include free FSD transfers and free Supercharging, as well as free paint, interior color, and seating options available for the Model 3 Performance and Model X AWD.

There is also a low 1.99% interest rate available in the US on new Model Y purchases.
