Tesla is opening up part of its Supercharger network to non-Tesla EVs in Mainland China on a pilot basis.

Per the announcement, Tesla is opening up ten Supercharger stations for 37 non-Tesla EVs.
A few of the EVs on the list include:
- Li Auto Li ONE
- BYD Han EV
- BYD Tang EV
- XPeng P7
- NIO ES6
- NIO EC6
- Polestar 2
Vehicle owners can charge at any of the five Supercharger stations taking part in the pilot in Beijing or Shanghai.
In addition to the ten Supercharger stations, Tesla is also opening up 120 destination charging stations which cover 25 provinces and cities in Mainland China.
China is not the first Tesla market to open its Supercharging network to non-Tesla EVs. At the end of 2021, Tesla piloted opening their Supercharger network to non-Tesla EVs in ten European countries. Since its launch, the charging pilot has expanded and now includes the United States, Australia and fifteen European countries.
However, the sheer size of the Supercharger network in China represents a significant opportunity for Tesla to grow its charging business if the pilot goes well. With over 1,600 Supercharger stations and 700 destination charging stations, non-Tesla charging could be a steady revenue source moving forward.
