A Former US Presidential contender wants Tesla’s FSD abolished

Tesla has many critics, including Ralph Nader, who aspired to the highest office in the US. Nader wants the automaker’s Full Self-Driving driving canceled, as reported by Teslarati.

However, Chinese Tesla owners can get a 50 percent discount when buying FSD.

The four-time presidential candidate, also an Independent political activist, called on federal regulators to immediately stop the carnage allegedly produced by Tesla’s technology.

Nader wrote, “Tesla’s major deployment of so-called Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology is one of the most dangerous and irresponsible actions by a car company in decades. Tesla should have never put this technology in its vehicles. Now over 100,000 Tesla owners are currently using technology that research shows malfunctions every eight minutes.”

He added, “NHTSA must use its safety recall authority to order that the FSD technology be removed in every Tesla.”

Tesla’s FSD has been criticized by California’s DMV before, which stated, “Instead of simply identifying product or brand names, these ‘Autopilot’ and ‘Full Self-Driving Capability’ labels and descriptions represent that vehicles equipped with the ADAS features will operate as an autonomous vehicle, but vehicles equipped with those ADAS features could not at the time of those advertisements, and cannot now, operate as autonomous vehicles.”

Tesla is yet to respond to the DMV.

Meanwhile, Tesla has never claimed its cars can drive themselves completely and requires drivers always to hold the steering and be alert to take over at any time.

Tesla, however, is getting ready to release FSD Beta 10.69, according to CEO Elon Musk on Twitter.
