While Tesla owners on Vancouver Island wait for their first official Sales, Service, & Delivery Center to be built, the automaker has opened a new temporary Service Center in Victoria.
Tesla currently has four Mobile Service Rangers, providing service coverage for most of Vancouver Island. When not on the road, the Rangers have been based out of Ferny’s Autobody, Tesla’s approved body repair shop in the region.
The space was small with just two vehicle hoists shared with Ferny’s, limiting the amount of work that could be done.
Quickly outgrowing the shared space, Tesla has now leased part of a nearby building and opened a temporary Service Center.
Located at 721 Pembroke Street, just a stones throw away from Ferny’s, the site still requires work, appointments are already being scheduled at the new location according to Kay Tee, who shard the information on the Tesla Owners Club of Vancouver Island Facebook group.
We have since been able to confirm with one owner who is set to receive their HW3.0 upgrade at this new location on Wednesday, November 17 2021.
Albeit a small location, it will give the Rangers their own space to work on owner’s cars, avoiding a potentially expensive trip and tow to Vancouver for repairs.
This location is only temporary. The company was hoping to lease the former Volvo dealership this past summer, but that deal fell through at the final hour.
Instead, Tesla is now planning to build their own location from scratch in Langford, just outside of Victoria. The plans are still in the very early stages, with the construction job recently put out to tender.
Sources and city officials have confirmed with Drive Tesla it will be located at 2371 Gate City Blvd., part of the new development on McCallum Road across from Costco
