Partnership between Tesla and Samsung grows to include headlights

Samsung Electronics has signed a new deal with Tesla to supply the automaker’s LED headlights.

News of the deal was confirmed Sunday according to a report from the Korea IT News. The publication said the deal would entail Samsung providing Tesla with “smart headlamps,” which are already in production.

The report added that the headlights would be supplied to Tesla through German automotive part supplier HELLA.

This isn’t the first business deal between the electronics giant and the automaker. Samsung currently manufactures Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) chip, otherwise known as HW3.0.

It was also reported earlier this year that the pair have partnered to develop a new five-nanometer chip for FSD.
