Rivian quietly announced a fantastic warranty for the R1T and R1S.
Based on the information available on their website, the Rivian warranty system covers four areas.
First, the Comprehensive warranty lasts five years or up to 60,000 miles. It covers all parts, labour, and any faults that arise from defects or workmanship with the vehicle’s regular operations.
Second, the battery warranty lasts eight years or up to 175,000 miles. The warranty covers all battery components and will replace the battery if it drops below 70%. While the components that connect the battery to the vehicle are covered under the comprehensive warranty.
Third, the drivetrain warranty mirrors the battery warranty and lasts eight years or up to 175,000 miles.
Finally, Rivian also offers a Perforation Corrosion Warranty. The warranty is also for eight year and has no mileage limitations. In addition, it covers the repair or replacement of any original body panel.
The Rivian warranty program is easy to understand, and honestly, it is one of the best warranty programs in the automotive industry. When compared to the multi-tiered program offered by Tesla, Rivian’s overall warranty package is hard to beat.
