Volkswagen Canada Unveils the 2025 ID. Buzz, price starts at $77,495

Volkswagen Canada has announced the upcoming arrival of the 2025 ID. Buzz, a modern take on the iconic “VW Bus” that is scheduled to hit Canadian roads later this year.

At first glance, the ID. Buzz stands out with its oversized VW logo, short overhangs, and expansive greenhouse—a design that harkens back to the original Bus while embracing contemporary aesthetics. The vehicle’s exterior is customizable, offering a variety of colour combinations, including two-tone options.

The ID. Buzz is not just about looks. The 91 kWh battery powers the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) model with 282 horsepower, while the all-wheel-drive (AWD) 4MOTION® variant boosts the output to 335 horsepower. When it comes to range, the RWD can travel an estimated 377km on a full charge, while the AWD version will take you as far as 373km between charges.

Inside, the ID. Buzz can be configured in three distinct interior colour schemes, each designed to complement the vehicle’s exterior. Customers can pick from the mid-century modern vibes of the “Cognac” interior (it is called Copper in the US), to the coastal-inspired “Dune” and the moody “Moonlight” options.

The interior isn’t just about style. Standard technology includes a 12.9-inch infotainment display, a 5.3-inch ID. Cockpit digital instrument cluster. There is also Volkswagen’s IQ.DRIVE advanced driver assistance technology, which offers semi-automated driving capabilities, including hands-on lane changes with Travel Assist activated.

Volkswagen is offering the ID. Buzz in Canada in two configurations: the rear-wheel-drive 1st Edition, priced at C$77,495, and the 4MOTION® all-wheel-drive model at C$82,995. Both versions come equipped with launch-year-exclusive features, including heritage-inspired floor mats, unique exterior badging, and a range of standard amenities like heated and ventilated front seats with massage functions, a 700-watt Harman Kardon sound system, and wireless charging.

For those looking for more, optional features include a $2,000 electrochromic panoramic smart glass roof, which can switch from transparent to opaque with the swipe of a finger, and various exterior colour options that further personalize the vehicle.

The 2025 ID. Buzz is set to arrive at Volkswagen dealerships across Canada later this year.
