VinFast owners will get two free charging sessions with Electrify America

Vietnamese automaker VinFast announced a new agreement today that will provide new VinFast owners with two complimentary charging sessions on the Electrify America (EA) charging network.

No, that’s not a typo, two free charging sessions, not two free years of charging which is what EA has provided other automakers in the past (or more).

There is another bonus though for VinFast owners. According to a press release, you will also be able to access the EA network directly through the VinFast mobile app.

In addition, Plug & Charge technology can be enabled on their first two EVs to launch in North America – the VF8 and VF9. This will provide a “convenient and seamless charging experience” that allows owners to simply plug in and automatically be billed to their account through the VinFast app.

VinFast is planning to release the VF8 and VF9 in North America later this year.

Neither EV will come with a battery, as that requires a separate lease and a separate monthly payment. VinFast has not revealed how much the battery subscription will cost.

VinFast is coming to Canada in 2022 with two new EV SUVs
