VinFast consolidates US and Canadian operations into VinFast North America

VinFast has announced a reorganization of its operations in Canada and the US. Both countries will be served by a North American headquarters based in the US. The Vietnamese EV maker hopes to increase efficiency with this move.

The company was formed in 2017 but entered the mainstream in 2021 through ambitious announcements close to the Los Angeles Auto Show. Since then, VinFast has launched two EVs in the North American markets, which it has started delivering, and is working on its IPO.

According to its press release, the Los Angeles HQ will oversee its operations in the country and neighboring Canada. The US CEO, Nguyen Thi Van Anh, is in charge of the North American business.

VinFast said the changes would not affect customer commitments in the US and Canada, as product distribution and servicing remain the same. It said, “The consolidation is designed to provide greater focus, responsiveness, and accountability, in order to streamline operations and enhance the delivery of its new electric vehicles to customers while reducing expenses. With strategic direction from the Vietnam global leadership team, both the US and Canadian operations will continue to be responsible for in-market initiatives including the implementation of certain plans and tactics developed to respond to the specific market conditions and unique customer requirements in each country.”

VinFast has promised to launch its own promotion in response to Tesla’s price cuts.
