Tesla has unveiled a limited-run “Signature Edition” for the Model S and Model X, marking the final chapter for its flagship sedan and SUV.
According to details shared with select customers on Saturday morning, Tesla will produce just 250 units of the Model S and 100 units of the Model X Signature Edition. Further enhancing their exclusivity, the vehicles are being offered on an invite-only basis, meaning only customers who received a direct email from Tesla are eligible to purchase one.
That exclusivity comes at a price though. The Model S and Model X Signature Editions are priced at US$159,420, not including any taxes or fees. That’s a hefty premium compared to the already raised existing inventory pricing.
We have yet to hear of any Canadian customers that received the invitation email, but if you did, let us know.
So what does US$160,000+ get you? According to information shared by our friend Ryan McCaffrey, host of the Ride The Lightning Tesla and EV podcast, the Signature Edition gets a number of exclusive design touches. All units come finished in a deep Garnet Red paint, paired with gold Tesla “T” badges up front and unique Signature and Plaid badging at the rear. The Model S also features matching red door handles.

Inside, Tesla is leaning heavily into a premium, almost bespoke feel. The white interior is upgraded with Alcantara accents and special badging, including gold Plaid seat logos with matching piping. Owners will also find Signature-branded door sills and a custom dashboard badge featuring an individually numbered plaque, such as “1/250,” highlighting the limited and exclusive nature of the run.
Tesla has also added subtle but distinctive details like gold Plaid puddle lights, a unique interior lighting sequence, and a dedicated Signature Edition key fob.

Performance enhancements are also part of the package, at least for the Model S. It will include carbon ceramic brakes with gold-painted calipers, a notable upgrade over the standard setup. The Model X, meanwhile, retains the red Plaid brake calipers but still benefits from the same visual and interior upgrades.

Both vehicles come standard with yoke steering and large wheels—21 inches on the Model S and 22 inches on the Model X.
On the software and accessories side, every Signature Edition also includes Tesla’s “Luxe Package,” bundling Full Self-Driving (Supervised), four years of Premium Service, free Supercharging, and Premium Connectivity. Combined with the exclusive features, these are the most fully loaded versions of the Model S and Model X ever offered.
As previously hinted at by Elon Musk, McCaffrey says Tesla is planning a special delivery or celebration event in May, fittingly scheduled around sunset, to mark the occasion.
