Tesla Model Y best-selling EV in Norway

According to the OFV, the Tesla Model Y became the top-selling EV in August in Norway in its first month of sales. Tesla is a newcomer to the market and holds 12.7% of the overall EV sales in the country after a single month. In August, the company sold 1,309 Model Y’s. In comparison, the Model 3 sold 774 units.

One thing to note is that Tesla only began orders for their vehicles on August 20. With hundreds of cars set to arrive from Giga Shanghai, the potential for Tesla to take off in Norway is relatively high. Many insiders note that as soon as Giga Berlin comes online, Tesla availability and sales should skyrocket in the country.

Norway recently focused on EV and hybrid vehicles as the country starts on its journey of only selling emission-free cars by 2025.

The other top-selling EV’s in August in Norway were:

Ford Mustang Mach-E with 907 units.

Volkswagen ID.4 with 861 units.

Toyota RAV4 with 721 units.
