Tesla LTE connection issues being reported across Canada

Tesla owners in Canada have been experiencing LTE connection issues in their cars since yesterday, and the problem appears to be affecting owners across the country.

According to DownDetector the problems started yesterday, March 29 around 1:00pm PT, when we first received a report of a connection issue from an owner in Toronto. More problems were reported throughout the afternoon, eventually declining through the evening.

We didn’t report on it at the time as the problems appeared to have been fixed with no more reports through this morning, but at around 3:00pm PT they started rising again.

Based on a map of where these connection issues are being reported, it is affecting owners across Canada, with the majority coming from around the Toronto area. This is likely due to the population size alone, and not a specific problem related to that part of the country.

Tesla uses Telus as their connectivity partner in Canada, but according to the company’s website, they are not experiencing any connection issues at this time.

We haven’t experienced any connection issues on our cars, but we have reached out to Tesla Service for a comment on the situation. We have not heard back at the time of publication but will update this article when we get a response.
