What better way for a billionaire CEO and his mom to spend New Year’s Eve than at the Fremont factory in California helping to deliver vehicles to lucky new owners on the final day of what may be the best quarter yet for Tesla.
The Musks worked alongside Tesla employees and other volunteers that were there to get as many vehicles as possible into the hands of new owners. There were two reasons for the big push. The first is that, as mentioned, it was the final day of the quarter and Tesla was in ‘insane mode’ in an attempt to push as many vehicles out the door as possible. The second reason, and perhaps more important reason for most that day, was it was the last day before the tax credits expired for Tesla vehicles in the US.
It's popping at the Fremont Delivery Center and our members are hard at work helping new owners understand how to use them. You will rarely see this many people in a dealership. @elonmusk 📸@rhoehn pic.twitter.com/p2z0z3InC9

The day before Musk had announced on Twitter that he was heading to Fremont to help with the deliveries as the deadline loomed.

The line-ups continued well into the night, with people still waiting until after midnight to receive their vehicles.
Wow! It’s almost 5pm on New Year’s Eve and the lines at the Fremont @Tesla Factory to pick up cars are still going crazy strong @teslaownersSV pic.twitter.com/Oo8nsMSI68

Seeing all of these people wait for their new Tesla, and with the Netherlands setting records with over 11,000 Model 3’s registered in December alone, the Q4 numbers for Tesla should certainly put them close to achieving their annual guidance of 360,000-400,000 vehicle deliveries for the year.
What CEO will come during the busiest time of the year and spend it with customers.@elonmusk was most concerned that new owners were having a good experience hence the question in the video. It is not easy to try and deliver 1k+ cars in one day but he took the time for new owners pic.twitter.com/33pewXEvnt
