With the beginning of the new year comes great news for Canadian Tesla owners, as Tesla quietly updated their website overnight with 14 new Supercharger locations coming soon across Canada.
Making the list of new Superchargers is Prince Edward Island, which will get its first ever Supercharger in 2020. Ontario got the most new Superchargers with 3 new locations announced in Bancroft, Collingwood, and Oakville. British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Quebec, and Nova Scotia will each get 2 new Supercharger stations.
The new locations in Alberta and Saskatchewan will now link Edmonton and Saskatoon along the northern Highway 16 route, a popular route between the two cities and provinces.
The new Supercharger locations are all listed as “Coming Soon” on Tesla’s website, with no further details about when they might open (other than ‘2020’) or which ones will feature the latest V3 Supercharger technology, but with most recent openings featuring V3, the majority, if not all of these, should be V3. Those Superchargers can charge at up to 250kW, or 1,600km/hr. That means a Long Range Model 3 can regain about 120km of charge in just 5 minutes.
