Tesla has made some more adjustments to its referral program in Canada and the United States, altering the amount of Tesla credits received by existing owners, and removing discounts, but at the same time now giving free trials of Full Self-Driving (FSD) for new owners.
Until now, existing Tesla owners in Canada could earn either $1,300 in Tesla credits for Cybertruck referral orders, or $650 for other models, while in the U.S. those amounts were $1,000 and $500 respectively. In return for using a referral link, the new owner purchasing the car would receive an equivalent discount on their purchase price.
Now with the changes, those amounts have either been reduced or removed entirely.
In Canada the changes are a little unclear. According to what our readers have told us, some are still seeing a reward of $325 in Tesla Credits for referring new owners, while others are seeing no benefits at all, with the mobile app showing “No Eligible Products” on the referrer tab.
While the amount of Tesla Credits earned is unclear, everyone is now seeing a new benefit of 3 months of FSD for new owners who use a referral link.
One thing that hasn’t changed is the Loyalty benefits. When an existing owner purchases a new Tesla, you still receive a discount of either $650 for Model 3/Y, or a $1,300 discount on Model S/X and Cybertruck.

The changes appear to be more straightforward in the U.S., where existing owners can now earn $250 in Tesla Credits for referring someone, while new owners get 3 months of FSD.
Additionally in the U.S. there is a new benefit of a US$400 discount for Tesla Solar Panel and Powerwall installations.
