Nova Scotia electric vehicle rebate program now accepting applications

Last month the Government of Nova Scotia announced $9.5 million in funding for a new electric vehicle (EV) incentive program.

Announced on February 24, the Electrify Nova Scotia Rebate Program is now officially open and accepting applications. Only those buyers that purchase an EV or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) between the day the program was announced and April 1, 2021 will need to apply manually.

After that date the rebate will be applied at the time of purchase, making for a seamless buying experience.

What EVs qualify for the Electrify Nova Scotia Rebate Program?

To make it as easy as possible, all the new EVs and PHEVs that qualify for the federal iZEV rebate program also qualify for the $3,000 Nova Scotia rebate. As it relates to Tesla that means for now only the Model 3 Standard Range Plus (SR+) qualifies.

This Electrify Nova Scotia rebate can be applied on top of the iZEV rebate, giving you a total of $8,000 off qualifying EVs and PHEVs.

A smaller $2,000 rebate is also applicable to used EVs that retail for between $10,000 and $55,000. That same parameters are applicable for used PHEVs, but you are only eligible for a $1,000 rebate.
