In August, lucid debuted its high-performance Lucid Air Sapphire model, but it took until this week to get some of the luxury performance car’s speed specs.
At least to say, the tri-motor Air Sapphire is impressive.
As per Lucid, here are some of the specs from the 1,200 horsepower EV:
- 0-60 mph in 1.89 seconds
- 0-100 mph in 3.87 seconds
- A top speed of 205 mph or 330 km/h
These specs are top-notch and are quicker than the Tesla Model S Plaid.
One spec that Lucid did not confirm was the quarter mile time, but they did note it should be under 9 seconds.
These are impressive numbers, and the vehicle was built with speed in mind.
Lucid took the time to utilize track-tuned suspension, ABS traction, stability control and electronic power steering. In addition, the vehicle also has standard carbon-ceramic brakes and a torque-vectoring system to add grip and turning capability at high speed.
Lucid has yet to release the final power, torque or range ratings, but that should come closer to production. Many expect it to beat the Lucid Air Dream Edition in terms of numbers.
Production will start on the Lucid Air Sapphire in the first half of 2023, with deliveries beginning mid to late 2023.
Unsurprisingly, the Lucid Air Sapphire is not a budget vehicle and costs $249,900 in the US or $325,000 in Canada.
